Gladstone won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in the film “Killers of the Flower Moon.” She sees her film colleague Leonardo DiCaprio as a role model.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” star Lily Gladstone is pleased that co-star Leonardo DiCaprio held off on giving her advice about dealing with fame. “What I really appreciate is that there’s not this protective, patriarchal way of saying, ‘Let me give you some advice, child,'” the 37-year-old told US magazine The New Yorker. “Every time Leo did it, he was fully aware of it and did it as a joke. He’s quite a weirdo and a smartass.”
Golden Globe for Best Actress
Gladstone won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in the film “Killers of the Flower Moon” and is nominated for an Oscar. In the film directed by Martin Scorsese, she plays a member of the indigenous Osage Nation tribe.
Her Hollywood-experienced film colleagues DiCaprio, Scorsese and Robert De Niro are “setting a good example” for her in dealing with the huge attention she is suddenly receiving, as the actress explained. “That grounded me the most because I was able to be around people who were so used to that.” The new life and the encounters with other stars were also “not as big or scary” as she thought.
