Some people dream of being rich as a child. Or princess. Or astronaut. Or excavator driver. Actor Frederick Lau had other ideas – and can now live them out in his roles.
The Berlin actor Frederick Lau (34), who can be seen as a bank robber with a mullet in the ARD miniseries “Testo”, likes to play roles that are different. “It’s of course fun to play such absurd roles – they’re kind of childhood dreams, to just say: You’re going to rob a bank,” Lau told the “Hamburger Morgenpost”.
“I love diving into situations that are so far removed from my own reality,” he continued. This is much more exciting for an actor than playing the “boy next door”. Although he often plays tough guys in films, he is completely different at home. “At home I’m the typical family man. I can do both.” Lau is married to the presenter Annika Lau (44, “Gala”).
