Synopsis of Dark Separation, a Netflix option
The girl’s mother (Maggie) is run over and killed while arguing on the phone with Jeff (the father). The most disturbing of all comes when in a family portrait that Maggie didn’t like, only the part where Jeff’s face was located “melts”. The other people are left intact, making the sequence quite strange. Since that event, everything that happens in the house is scary.
“After the tragedy that the custody battle pushes them into, a girl and her father must deal with an evil presence in their home,” summarizes the official Netflix synopsis.
