Singer: Christina Sturmer: Giving autographs annoyed her

Christina Sturmer has been a successful singer for 20 years. The life of a celebrity wasn’t easy for her at first.

At the beginning of her career, singer Christina Sturm first had to get used to the side effects of success. “It really annoyed me that everyone wanted photos and autographs of me, even when I was out and about for private purposes. People gave me the feeling: We made you big, and therefore you have to do everything we want.” said the native Austrian in an interview with the “Thüringer Allgemeine”.

However, she no longer wants to swap her job for that of a bookstore. She worked there at the age of 20 before starting her career as a musician.

It was clear to her from the beginning of her career that she wanted to sing in German, said Sturm. “And people said that was stupid. But I was a bit stubborn and said: If I’m not allowed to sing in German, then I won’t do it. I have my job.” When making decisions, she listens primarily to her gut. In principle, she is happy with everything she does, says the mother of two daughters.

The 41-year-old singer has sold more than 1.9 million records since her success in the talent show “Starmania” in 2003. On the occasion of her 20th stage anniversary, Sturmer recorded two concerts, which will be released as an album in mid-March.
