The most important days of the fifth season will take place from February 8th to 13th, 2024. And to celebrate, you don’t always have to buy something new. Here are six last-minute costumes made from everyday clothing.
If you want to celebrate Carnival, you obviously need a costume. But: It doesn’t always have to be the expensive costume from the store. Often you already have the basics for a beautiful disguise in your closet or you spontaneously buy something that you can reuse later. These parts can be spiced up a bit and then you can get into the fray – without much effort. We have ideas for six last-minute costumes made from regular clothes.
1. Carnival costume: athlete
Many of us have a jogging suit or other sportswear in the closet. Perfect for a last-minute carnival costume that you can also use later in everyday life. In the fifth season you can also exaggerate a bit: with sweatbands, football boots and a ball under your arm, for example. Or you can borrow your parents’ or relatives’ old-school joggers – and the eye-catching costume is ready.
2. Carnival costume: ghost
If you don’t feel like doing anything elaborate, you can simply go to carnival as a ghost. Just an old one Make it the right size, cut out the eyes and you have a costume. You don’t have to worry about hair etc. either.
3. Carnival costume: Agent
Anyone who wants to make the carnival party unsafe as an agent just needs to rummage through the closet: black top, black (art), black leather pants, black gloves and dark sunglasses. Almost everyone has this in their closet and looks great as a disguise.
4. Carnival costume: hippie
But it also works in color: Many people probably have a colorful patterned skirt, a colorful tie or something similar in their closet. You can easily make a carnival costume out of this. Simply combine the colorful pieces with pieces made of jeans, fringes, round sunglasses and a headband. If you have one, you can also use jewelry with peace signs, flowers or similar. The hippie look for the carnival party is ready.
5. Carnival costume: Grandma/Grandpa
For this costume, you can pay a visit to your grandparents and politely ask if you can rummage through their closet. Corduroy trousers and the like are of course particularly suitable. Then spice up the vintage clothing with accessories such as glasses with thick lenses or, optionally, hair curlers and you’re ready for carnival.
6. Carnival costume: cat
This costume isn’t that difficult either: you can even dress normally, put on a fluffy jacket at the end, sit down – if you have – or she makes herself out of a headband and two fabric triangles and paints the hairs on her face. And having fun is much more important than the perfect costume.
