For the first time since his serious accident with a snow plow, Jeremy Renner was back in front of the camera: The actor filmed action scenes of a different kind for a commercial for the Super Bowl.
When the Super Bowl takes place in Las Vegas on Sunday, the focus will not only be on the sporting events and Usher’s musical performance, but also on the promotional videos during the breaks. Companies have to shell out up to seven million dollars for one of the coveted spots. Traditionally, the clips are particularly elaborate and produced with a lot of humor, often with the support of celebrities. This year, actor Jeremy Renner is celebrating his comeback with a commercial for almond milk.
In it, Renner belts out the soul classic “I Feel Good” by James Brown in a good mood while making breakfast in his dressing gown. In superhero style, he jumps onto the kitchen counter, throws pancakes onto the plate like knives or skillfully spears the milk carton with the help of a wooden spoon. What’s special: Renner hasn’t been seen so fit in front of the camera for a long time. The 53-year-old spent the past year in rehab after he had a serious accident with a snow plow in January 2023. His life was in jeopardy, he suffered more than 30 broken bones and his lung collapsed.
Jeremy Renner is grateful to his family
“I’m feeling good today, but when I read the script I thought: I don’t know if I feel that good, because a lot of physical effort was required,” jokes Renner in an interview with the US broadcaster “CBS”.
Another highlight of the clip: Renner also brought his ten-year-old daughter Ava in front of the camera. In the video she is sitting at the breakfast table laughing as Renner casually says: “I’m just getting back into my old routine!”. Renner emphasizes how important she was to his recovery. “I was never really afraid of death, but when it happened to me, I was just afraid that I wouldn’t be able to say anything to my family and my daughter,” said the Hollywood star. If he hadn’t wanted to get well for her, he would no longer be here today, he is sure. The way they looked after him was an example of true love.
“Today I can walk around again with a smile on my lips and a lot of love in my heart – in a body full of titanium,” says Jeremy Renner happily. In addition to the almond milk clip from the company “Silk”, a spot from “Uber Eats” with stars like Jennifer Aniston and the Beckhams has already made the rounds, as well as a “T Mobile” commercial with Zach Braff and Donald Faison.
