Ozzy Osbourne (75) rails against Kanye West (46). The British cult rocker accuses the US rapper of using parts of his music without consent.
Ozzy Osbourne: Kanye West “caused a lot of people suffering”
West asked him in advance for permission to use an excerpt from the live performance of the song “Iron Man” by his band Black Sabbath from 1983. The rapper wanted to use the clip without singing. But Osbourne refused. The reason: “Because he is an anti-Semite and has caused untold suffering to many people.”
Nevertheless, Kanye West played the excerpt without permission at a party for his new album, writes Osbourne. His post ends with the clear words: “I want nothing to do with this man.”
A lot of criticism after anti-Semitic allegations
Kanye West has come under fire in recent years after making anti-Semitic comments on social media and in several interviews. Many of his advertising partners then ended their collaboration with West.
For example, the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas ended a cooperation with the rapper and announced in a statement in October 2022: “Adidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other type of hate speech. Ye’s recent statements and actions are unacceptable, hateful and dangerous and violate the Company values such as diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.” West had previously designed shoes and clothing for Adidas under the “Yeezy” brand.
