It’s never too late for love. Singer Jennifer Lopez is still amazed at her wedding to Ben Affleck – twenty years after their engagement.
For her new album, US singer Jennifer Lopez also wrote about her romantic comeback with her Hollywood colleague Ben Affleck. “Our love story was very inspiring for the new songs, very, very inspiring,” the 54-year-old told “Welt am Sonntag” before “This is Me … Now” was released on February 16th.
“This love story between Ben and I is pretty incredible. And it surprised no one more than myself.” Lopez and Affleck unexpectedly married in Las Vegas in the summer of 2022 after being engaged around 20 years earlier. However, the “Bennifer romance” only lasted 18 months.
The constant hunt for the couple by the tabloid media was primarily responsible for the separation, said Lopez. They both learned from that. “When you’re younger and all this stuff is so important to you, this kind of attention can really hurt you. It can traumatize you and destroy you. But if you’ve had a few years of experience and understand what’s really important in life, Things like that no longer affect you in the same way as they did back then.”
She and Ben would now know how to keep things private. “We live our lives the way we want to live them: I have to be able to go out the door and take the kids to school, all that kind of stuff.” Lopez has twins Emme and Max from her previous relationship with singer Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner.
