Choi Woo Shik, protagonist of “Parasites,” becomes a young man involved in accidental deaths in “The Killer Paradox,” a new series on the famous platform.

Netflix will premiere a Korean suspense series this Friday, February 9 that promises to make people talk: it’s called The Killer Paradox and stars Choi Woo Shik, one of the main actors in Parasites, the Oscar-winning film, where he played one of the Kims, the cunning family that inserts itself into the life of a rich family. After starring in a romantic comedy, Choi returns to dark humor and crime stories with this 8 episode miniseries for the famous platform.

The official trailer presents a troubled Lee Tang (Choi), a young man with a submissive character who has killed someone in an involuntary altercation.. Filled with guilt and fear for what happened, he awaits imminent capture. But when he decides to turn himself in to the police, the protagonist discovers news: The victim of this homicide is a serial killer. In addition, evidence of Lee Tang’s crime inexplicably disappears. A hero fallen from heaven, or an unpunished sinner?, the posters of the limited series question. In parallel, detective Jang Nam Gam (Son Suk Ku) guides his instinct to find the person responsible for the murder. The clues will lead the police officer to a much more complex case.

The drama is built around Lee Tang’s perspective on his own actions. Morality, justice and personal transformation are themes that this series will explore, along with Lee’s evolution from a normal man with little courage to defend himself, to a self-proclaimed vigilante who applies justice on his own. The cast also includes Lee Hee Joon (Behind Every Star), Kim Yo Han (Summer Strike) and Hyun Bong Shik (The Monster of Old Seoul).

The direction in The Killer Paradox is by Lee Chang Hee, while the script was adapted by Kim Da Min. The story of this unexpected antihero is born from a webtoon of the same name written by Kkomabi, a digital comic that is available online through the Naver Webtoon app.

The Killer’s Paradox is part of the catalog of Korean content coming to Netflix in February. Its eight episodes will be released simultaneously on the 9th of that month. Meanwhile, you can see Choi Woo Shik in the youth drama That Year of Ours; and Son Suk Ku in My Diary of Liberation.
