Prince Harry wants to publish “intimate” memoirs

It was rumored for a long time, now it’s out: Prince Harry is planning to publish his memoir. The announcement could create new tension between Harry’s young family and the British royalty.

The British Prince Harry wants to reveal mistakes and lessons from his life: The grandson of Queen Elizabeth II plans to publish his memoir, as the New York book publisher Penguin Random House announced on Monday. The announcement comes at a time of strained relations between Harry’s young family and British royalty.

“I am not writing this as the prince I was born as, but as the man I have become,” said the prince in a statement published by the publisher. In the course of his life he “wore many hats”, both literally and figuratively. By telling his story, he wanted to show that “no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think”.

Publisher: “Intimate and Warm Memoirs”

The New York publishing giant described the book, announced for late next year, as “an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time”. Accordingly, Harry will also go into his childhood – the prince was only twelve years old when his mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car accident. The prince will donate the proceeds of the book to charity.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan left the UK last year and live in California with their two children Archie and Lilibet Diana. In March, the couple had in a spectacular interview with talk show icon Oprah Winfrey, among other things, directed racism allegations against the British royal family.
