Original Bachelor Paul Janke: This is what his dream woman should look like

How often has Paul Janke been in love and what should his dream woman look like? The original bachelor speaks plain language on Valentine’s Day.

Being alone on Valentine’s Day doesn’t necessarily have to be lonely. “There’s nothing wrong with spending it with friends or family and showing them how nice it is that they’re there,” explains Paul Janke (42). The original bachelor himself is considered to be permanently single. An image that he “actually doesn’t care about,” as he reveals on the sidelines of a Valentine’s Day campaign with the Ring company. “I think a lot of people just want a woman by my side.” The 42-year-old has very precise ideas about his dream woman.

For romantics, Valentine’s Day is an affair of the heart, while others consider the day of love to be commercial. Which faction do you belong to?

Paul Janke: Unfortunately, Valentine’s Day and a certain level of consumerism are very closely linked today, which I take a critical view of, because despite everything, the day is a symbol of love and partnership. Valentine’s Day reminds each of us, whether single or married, to show people how much they mean to us more often. Of course, this doesn’t just apply to this one day, but to the entire year.

In public you are considered to be permanently single. Do you like this image?

Paul Janke: I don’t really care. I think a lot of people just want a woman by my side and it would be more beneficial professionally if I had someone. But everything comes at the right time. I’m not an unhappy single person either

Have you ever tried dating apps, what do you think about them?

Paul Janke: But of course, the opportunity exists everywhere. However, on dating apps you are forced to decide based on a picture. The first visual impression is decisive; you are reduced to external appearances. That’s why I like the idea behind today’s Valentine’s Day campaign from Ring: Potential dating partners don’t see each other at first, the person themselves is the first impression. Live dating interpreted in this way is an ideal mix of traditional and modern dating. It becomes exciting and entertaining because a smart video doorbell figuratively “guards” the heart and only those who are personally likeable are allowed in.

What character traits are important to you in a woman?

Paul Janke: Humor, intelligence, optimism and reliability.

And visually, what should your dream woman look like?

Paul Janke: A pretty smile is important to me, it should be sporty and I also find long hair very attractive.

How many times have you been in love in your life?

Paul Janke: I would say three times.

Do you believe in one great love?

Paul Janke: Phew – that’s a good question. I would definitely want them. I can say that.

Do you hope to get married and start a family someday?

Paul Janke: That’s far away for me at the moment. I wouldn’t even have to get married. Let’s just wait and see – things always turn out differently than you think.

What advice can you give to the many singles out there who may be feeling particularly lonely on Valentine’s Day?

Paul Janke: If you’re still looking, let me tell you: It’s not just about love as a partner, but also about self-love. Because anyone who is satisfied with themselves radiates this and automatically appears more attractive to others. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with spending Valentine’s Day with friends or family and showing them how nice it is that they’re there.
