New images of the sequel to ”Joker”, the successful film of the year 2019 in which Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for best actor. Titled as ”Joker: Folie à Deux”HE will premiere on October 4 of this year in the U.S.
The director of the film, Todd Phillipsshared on his Instagram account three new photos of the long-awaited film, which quickly went viral on social networks with users who are impatiently awaiting it.

What the sequel to ”Joker” is about
As for the plot, at the moment there are not too many details, although from the title of the film we can understand that refers to a psychiatric disorder where two people share similar delusions: Joker and Harley Quinn. These two popular characters, played by, once again, Joaquin Phoenix; and Lady Gaga.
It is worth remembering that in the comics D.C.Harley Quinn is a psychiatrist who ends up falling under the influence of the Jokerwhose name is Arthur Fleck, adapting a psyche similar to that of the Batman villain.
Originally, it was said that the film would be a musical, something that divided opinions on social networks. But the film’s director of photography, Lawrence Shersaid ”It is not a musical per se, rather a film that has music”.
”The music is part of the film and the characters, but I’m not sure it’s a musical”he declared.
The cast of ”Joker: Folie à Deux”
Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar and universal praise for his portrayal of the Joker, so it’s no surprise to anyone that he returns to play Arthur Fleck/The Joker in the sequel. One notable fact to keep in mind is that thanks to Phoenix’s Oscar-winning performance, his salary for the sequel will be 20 million dollarscompared to the 4 million he received for the original film.
However, as mentioned above, the biggest addition to the sequel in terms of star power will be Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. Despite Margot Robbie played the character over the last decade in three different DC projects, Robbie has praised Gaga’s casting as Quinn and He thinks he will do an incredible job with the character.
After Lady Gaga, other notable actors and actresses who have been added to the cast are Jacob Lofland, Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson. Lofland will reportedly play an Arkham Asylum inmate, and there’s no word yet on who Keener and Gleeson will play. Another new name for the movie is Harry Lawtey (star of ”Industry” HBO), who has also been cast in an undisclosed role, however it has been reported that his role will be “big.”
Another name that the public will be familiar with is Zazie Beetz, who played Sophie in the first Joker movie. While it was revealed that the relationship between her and Arthur was completely made up inside Arthur’s head, His overall fate was never revealed in the film. Also, although nothing has been officially confirmed, Zazie has publicly stated that she believes Sophie is still alive in the series. Having said all this, Fans shouldn’t expect to see Zazie in the upcoming sequel, but it’s a very real possibility.
