Veteran of “Harry Potter”, David yates, come back to direct “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”, the third entry in the fantasy prequel series that takes place decades before the events of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
The latest film is the first in which Mads Mikkelsen, not Johnny Depp, will play the infamous Grindelwald. Warner Bros. asked Depp, who played the character in the first two installments, to exit the franchise last year. His departure coincided with news that Depp had lost his libel case against a British tabloid claiming he was a “wife beater.”
The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler y Jessica Williams. JK Rowling, who wrote the original book series, as well as the scripts for 2016’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and “The Crimes of Grindelwald,” co-wrote “Dumbledore’s Secrets” with Steve Kloves, who worked on many of the original “Harry Potter” movies.
The film will be released in theaters on April 14, 2022.
