Prince Harry: Could he return to his royal duties?

In an interview with “Good Morning America,” Prince Harry found conciliatory words for his family. Could he of all people fill the vacuum created by Princess Kate and King Charles’ illnesses?

After several interviews in which he made allegations against his family members, Prince Harry recently showed a different side. “I love my family,” he told “Good Morning America.” He firmly believes that King Charles’ cancer could bring the family members closer together again. But where did the sudden change of heart come from?

Royals: Prince Harry apparently wants to take on tasks again

Royal expert and journalist Kate Mansey now revealed her assessment on “Times Radio”. “Prince Harry is keen to reconcile with his father and has told people he wants to return, that he would like to take on a temporary royal role while his father is out,” Mansey said. In addition to the sick monarch, the royal family also has to do without Princess Kate, who will have to recover from her abdominal surgery until after Easter. This also limits Prince William’s operational capabilities.

“There is a real thinning at the top among the senior royals,” Mansey said. Princess Anne and Queen Camilla would take on even more tasks, but both are already older. “This could be the beginning of reconciliation,” according to experts. According to Mansey, Harry never wanted to completely leave everyday royal life anyway. “He always wanted to have his foot in the door,” she said.

Prince William might object

According to Mansey, Harry’s deployment would only be temporary, and the Duke of Sussex certainly doesn’t want any public money. “Whether the other family members want that too is, of course, another matter,” the expert conceded. But could Harry just return to everyday royal life? The answer is: Yes, if King Charles wants it too. “There has been a lot of talk on both sides in recent years, but this has never diminished the fundamental bond of blood and now there are pragmatic aspects to consider, with the well-being of the King and Kate coming first,” said a royal Source told The Times.

For Harry (and Meghan) to return to royal duties, King Charles III would have to. write down a plan that would then have to be approved in the palace. However, according to the Times, not everyone at Buckingham Palace is enthusiastic about the idea. After all, after Harry and Meghan’s exit in 2020, the Queen said that the two of them couldn’t be “half in and half out”. If Charles were to seek the return of his renegade son, Prince William’s reaction would also be interesting.

The brothers’ relationship is broken. Most recently, Harry spoke extremely unflatteringly of his brother in his autobiography “Reserve.” He was choleric and violent towards him – just two of the allegations. Princess Kate also criticized Harry. William is said to have not forgiven him since then. When Harry was recently in London to visit his sick father, there was no meeting of the princes.
