The German satirist discussed the party and the AfD in his show “ZDF Magazin Royale” on Friday evening and did not do so lightly. The FPÖ was particularly outraged by Böhmermann’s comment at the very end: “Please don’t forget, don’t always bring out the Nazi club, but maybe just club a few Nazis.”
“Call to kill politicians”
“This is a blatant call to kill against politicians, officials and voters from the FPÖ and AfD, whom Böhmermann previously portrayed as ‘Nazis’ in his hate broadcast, completely forgetting history,” said FPÖ General Secretary Christian Hafenecker in a broadcast. Culling means the precautionary killing of animals to prevent the spread of epidemics.

Böhmermann subsequently justified himself by saying that “keulen” was used in German youth language as an expression for masturbation. He was also surprised that FPÖ and AfD voters were mistaken for Nazis. Hafenecker described this as a “cheap protective claim”.
