Andreas Brehme was 63 years old

According to consistent media reports, Brehme died on the night of Monday to Tuesday at the age of 63. Accordingly, the former national soccer player apparently suffered a cardiac arrest. In his long career as a player and coach, Brehme went through various positions. After starting at HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst, he eventually made it to today’s record champions FC Bayern Munich via 1. FC Saarbrücken and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. After trips to Italy (Inter Milan) and Spain (Real Zaragoza), he returned to Kaiserslautern in 1993 and continued until the end of his career. He made his debut as a coach there in 2000 before later coaching Unterhaching and VfB Stuttgart as an assistant coach.
