Sam Mendes will direct all four films, and this is the first time full story and music rights have been awarded for a scripted film.
Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes and his Neal Street Productions have set plans to make four separate films, one about each of the members of the Beatles.
According to the Deadline portal, Mendes will direct all four films, and this is the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles (Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison) grant the rights to music and the entire story of his life for a scripted film.

Mendes was in charge of proposing the idea, it will tell interconnected stories, one from the point of view of each member of the band.
In addition to directing all four films, Mendes will produce alongside his Neal Street Productions partner Pippa Harris and Neal Street’s Julie Pastor. Jeff Jones will executive produce Apple Corps Ltd.
“This project stems from an idea Sam had over a year ago, and it is a testament to his creative brilliance and powers of persuasion that Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sean Lennon and Olivia Harrison responded with such warmth and enthusiasm as soon as he spoke with them,” Harris said.
“We intend for it to be an exceptionally exciting and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectiveswhich tell a single story about the most famous band of all time,” Harris added in a statement.
