Cancer prevention campaign week has begun in Great Britain. Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson opens up about almost putting off her routine mammogram.
In light of her recent cancer diagnosis, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, has urged Brits to undergo preventive medical check-ups. “Days can mean the difference between life and death, so please don’t skip or postpone your #healthcheck and tell your loved ones to go to theirs,” the 64-year-old wrote on Instagram. The Duchess of York commemorated the British week of action for cancer prevention.
Ferguson was diagnosed with aggressive skin cancer in January and had surgery for breast cancer less than a year ago. Also with her ex-brother-in-law King Charles III. had recently been diagnosed with cancer while being treated for benign prostate enlargement. The exact diagnosis is not known.
“I am committed to doing everything I can to raise awareness by sharing my experiences,” Ferguson wrote. She emphasized that without the care of her doctors, her situation could have been much worse. “It’s been a busy 2023 and I almost put off my routine mammogram, but my sister Jane convinced me to go.” She is now in good hands and has the support of her family.
