Actor Tony Ganios died of a heart attack after surgery for spinal cord inflammation.
American actor Tony Ganios has died at the age of 64. His fiancée Amanda Serrano revealed to the US portal “TMZ” that the film star died in a New York hospital on Sunday. He suffered a heart attack after an operation.
Fiancée mourns: “You are everything to me”
As the US portal reported, the actor with Italian and Greek roots suffered from severe spinal cord inflammation, for which he had to undergo an operation. He then suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of a severe heart attack, it is said. His fiancée reported that she was deeply shocked by the sudden death. The couple had been dating for nine years and were currently planning their wedding.
In a statement (formerly Twitter), Amanda Serrano responded to initial condolences: “The last words we said to each other were ‘I love you’. Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul and mine best friend.” It feels unreal because everything happened so quickly. She described what happened again: “He didn’t feel well and hid it from me for days. When he finally told me and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely inflamed. He had surgery and the next morning his heart stopped hit. I’m devastated.”
Comedy “Porky’s” made him famous
Tony Ganios was born on October 21, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. He was best known for his role as Anthony “Meat” Tuperello in the 1980s comedy trilogy Porky’s. Other films in which the Hollywood actor appeared included “The Wanderers”, “Die Hard 2” and “Two Like Cat and Mouse”.
