Russell Crowe impresses on social networks with his optical rejuvenation. For the first time in five years, the mime appears clean-shaven.
Oscar winner Russell Crowe (59) shared his impressive transformation with his fans and followers on the short message service X (formerly Twitter). The star of such unforgettable film classics as “Gladiator” and “A Beautiful Mind” shaved off his graying beard, which had been visible at public appearances in recent years. “The actor prepares number 20, first shave since 2019”, .
“Wow, you look 20 years younger!”
The accompanying text shows that the shaving was apparently done with a view to a new role for the mime. Fans of the New Zealand-born actor are flooding with positive comments in the comments section. “You have a beautiful face that’s hidden behind all that hair,” they say, or: “Wow, you look 20 years younger!”
However, it is not known exactly for which role Crowe said goodbye to his full beard. The busy actor will soon be in front of the camera for, among other things, the mixed martial arts action film “The Beast In Me”. In the historical film “Nuremberg” (German: “Nuremberg”) he plays the Nazi Hermann Göring (1893-1946).
Russell Crowe broke both legs while filming Robin Hood
Just a few days ago it was announced that Crowe had broken both legs while filming Ridley Scott’s (86) adventure film “Robin Hood” in 2009. The star himself revealed this. Crowe injured himself jumping onto the “rock-hard, uneven ground” of a castle because the ground was not prepared for the stunt during the hectic filming of a fight scene.
“We should have prepared the ground and dug in a base, but we were in a hurry to take the shot in the fading light,” the 59-year-old revealed. As soon as he jumped off, he thought to himself: “This is going to hurt.” Landing felt like “an electric shock was going through my body.”
But Crowe, who also portrays a tough guy in many of his most iconic roles, didn’t take a day off afterward and didn’t even inform production of the injury. “Everything for art. No cast, no splints, no painkillers, just keep working and over time they healed themselves,” explains the actor looking back.
It was only ten years later that the star was informed about the fact that he had broken his legs by a doctor he visited because of persistent pain in his lower legs. “Apparently I finished this film with two broken legs,” sums up Crowe about “Robin Hood.”
