“Nine Queens” returns to theaters remastered in 4K

The digitization of the national film was made from a frame-by-frame scan of the original 35mm image negative, preserved by the production company and the Buenos Aires Cinema Museum.

The acclaimed film “Nine Queens”directed by the deceased Fabian Bielinsky in 2000 and starring Ricardo Darin and Gaston Paulswill be re-released in theaters tomorrow, February 22, remastered in 4K format.

The Argentine film production company Patagonik was in charge of the digitization work of the successful film, which was remade in Hollywood in 2004 produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh with a cast made up of John C. Reilly, Diego Luna and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The digitization of the national film was made from a frame-by-frame scan of the original 35mm image negative, preserved by the production company and the Buenos Aires Cinema Museum.

Under the supervision of the film’s director of photography, Marcelo Camorino, cleaning and digital restoration work and a new color correction were carried out with the aim of recovering the original features. The sound restoration, carried out in the Netherlands, was based on Dolby Digital digitization.

In the film, two scammers who work on the street for a few pesos meet one morning and suddenly find themselves involved in a business worth hundreds of thousands. An urgent and immediate business, so much so that it will not allow them to hesitate, revealing a world of thieves and frauds.
