Sandra Hülser was awarded the French César Film Prize for Best Actress for her role in “Anatomy of a Case”.
After Sandra Hülser (45, “Toni Erdmann”) recently received the European Film Prize and an Oscar nomination, the German actress has now also been honored for her role in “Anatomy of a Case” (2023).
Director Justine Triet (45) also received the award for best direction at the Olympia concert hall in Paris. The award-winning British-American director Christopher Nolan (53, “Oppenheimer”) received the honorary César.
Sandra Hülser: “Forever grateful”
French director Justine Triet said in her own acceptance speech on stage that she was dedicating her award to “all women,” including “those who have been hurt.” She is only the second woman to be honored with this award.
After the award ceremony, her leading actress – with the trophy in her arms – thanked the director: “It was a great collaboration and I will be forever grateful for it.”
Sandra Hülser is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for “Anatomy of a Case.” The most important film awards will be presented on the night of March 10th to 11th in Los Angeles.
This is what “Anatomy of a Case” is about
“Anatomy of a Case” (original title: “Anatomie d’une chute”) is about a court case in a small French town.
For a year, the German writer Sandra Voyter (Hüller) has been living in a remote village in the French Alps with her French husband Samuel (Swann Arlaud, 42) and their eleven-year-old visually impaired son Daniel (Milo Machado-Graner). On a sunny day, Samuel is found dead in the snow at the foot of their chalet. The police begin to investigate as they consider Samuel’s death suspicious and see Sandra as the main suspect.
A complicated process begins in which not only the circumstances of Samuel’s death, but also the relationship between Sandra and Samuel are closely examined…
