“Miss Germany”: Apameh Schönauer is the new beauty queen

Apameh Schönauer from Berlin wins the “Miss Germany” election. Her moving story impressed the jury.

On Saturday evening (February 24th) it was that time again: the most beautiful woman in Germany was crowned. This year the coveted award went to the architect Apameh Schönauer (39) from Berlin. “I can’t believe it,” she shouted happily into the microphone immediately after the decision.

She is the new “Miss Germany”: Apameh Schönauer

Apameh Schönauer prevailed against eight other women. In the finale she told a moving story: As a six-year-old, she fled from Iran to Germany with her mother. She persevered and worked her way up to become a successful businesswoman. She also seems stable on a family level; she is married to a German with whom she has two children. She now wants to encourage other women and, above all, stand up for young women with a migrant background. Schönauer knows from his own experience how difficult it is to integrate into a new environment and reality of life and to be successful at the same time.

Ex-jungle camper Twenty4Tim on the jury

The decision in favor of Schönauer was made in the final round by the vote of the six-person jury, which included ex-jungle camper Twenty4Tim (24), “Prince Charming” star Nicolas Puschmann (32) and actress Sharon Battiste (32). For her performance, the new Miss Germany will receive the renowned “Female Leader Award” along with prize money of 25,000 euros, according to the organizer’s official information.

The traditional age limit of 39 years was lifted this season, so that Mignon Kowollik (42) from Hamburg also competed in the final. According to the organizer, a total of around 15,000 applications were submitted this year.
