Sting: With daughter at the “Dune 2” premiere

Pop star Sting (72) attended the New York premiere of “Dune 2”. He received support from his family: his daughter Mickey Sumner (40) appeared with him on the red carpet. Both appeared in a black outfit: the musician wore an elegant black cashmere coat over dark leather trousers and chunky boots.

Sting’s daughter opted for a black, floor-length cut-out dress under a thin satin coat. She combined pointed pumps, hanging earrings and a clutch with her outfit. She had put her hair up in a high bun.

Mickey Sumner, a successful actress herself, is one of six children Sting has. His first marriage to actress Frances Tomelty (75), which lasted from 1976 to 1984, has two children: Joseph (47) and Fuschia Katherine “Kate” (41) Sumner. In 1992, Sting married actress Trudie Styler (70), with whom he had four children: Brigitte Michael “Mickey”, Jake (38), Eliot Paulina “Coco” (33) and Giacomo Luke (28) Sumner.

Sting was a “Dune” star himself

Sting’s appearance at the film’s premiere in New York is reminiscent of his own “Dune” role. He played the character Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in “The Desert Planet”, David Lynch’s (78) film adaptation of the novel by Frank Herbert (1920-1986) from 1984. This can be seen again in “Dune 2” after director Denis Villeneuve (56) left it out in the first part of his 2021 film adaptation of the material. “Elvis” star Austin Butler (32) plays Feyd-Rautha in the sequel and will meet Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet (28).

“Dune 2” hits theaters on February 29th. Zendaya (27) plays one of the main roles alongside Chalamet, and the cast also includes Florence Pugh (28), Anya Taylor-Joy (27) and Christopher Walken (80). The script for the third part is also almost finished, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve revealed last December.
