A female crew member who worked on a film with Gerard Depardieu has filed a formal complaint for sexual harassment and assault against the actor, his lawyer reported, in a new accusation against the French star for inappropriate behavior.
The complaint was filed on Friday, the lawyer reported Carine Durrieu-Diebolt in an emailed statement Monday.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said it had not yet received the complaint, while the actor’s lawyers and agent did not immediately respond to a request for comment by phone and email.
Durrieu-Diebolt confirmed a report from the French media Mediapart, which stated that the events took place during the filming of “Les Volets verts” in 2021, in which Depardieu starred alongside the actress Anouk Grinberg.
The complainant, a 53-year-old set designer, told Mediapart that the actor had touched her inappropriately.
In the statement, Durrieu-Diebolt points out that the “modus operandi” is similar to that described by twenty other women who have testified against the actor, and states that “the events cause damage and a lasting psychological impact for the victims.”
The accusations against Gerard Depardieu
Depardieu has been at the center of a growing number of sexual assault allegations. In 2022, the investigating judges placed him under formal investigation as a suspect of rape and sexual assault of the actress. Charlotte Arnold28 years old.
The actor, through his lawyers, has previously denied committing any crime and has “firmly rejected” the accusations against him.
His Legion of Honor medal, France’s highest decoration, has also been put under review in the wake of the allegations. However, the French president Emmanuel Macron and dozens of personalities, such as the actress Nathalie Baye and the singer and former first lady Carla Brunihave come to his defense.
