TV presenter Thomas Gottschalk has rejected allegations that he got too close to female guests in broadcasts of the ZDF live show, which will be discontinued at the end of 2023. “I’m starting to get annoyed, I have to say honestly, by these constant accusations that I was the forefather of the act on television,” said the 73-year-old in the current edition of his podcast “Die Supernasen” with colleague Mike Krüger on the streaming service RTL+.
He has never exceeded his abilities as a presenter in his life. “I wasn’t a doer and never wanted to be,” emphasized Gottschalk. “When I touched women, I only held them to prevent them from running to the jet, which many did anyway.” Gottschalk first took over moderation of the successful ZDF show in 1987.
