Fatherhood has changed Hollywood star Bradley Cooper’s life. Daughter Lea is the “anchor” in his life.
Hollywood star Bradley Cooper (49) battled drug and alcohol addiction for years, and the “A Star is Born” actor has now been sober for almost 20 years. The actor now reveals how his six-year-old daughter Lea helped him find meaning in life again.
“Not sure if I’d be alive”
“I’m not sure I would be alive if I wasn’t a father,” Cooper admits in the podcast. His daughter is the “anchor” in his life; through her the actor learned “that there is something more important than yourself.” Nevertheless, the 49-year-old could not have said “whether I really loved the child”, especially in the first few months after the birth of his daughter. He “watched” her and was fascinated, but he didn’t understand how parents could die for their child. His feelings only changed a little later, and suddenly it was “no longer a question” for Cooper.
The actor also explains that as a father, he has the desire to work on himself to become the best version of himself. He wanted to “cause as little harm” to his daughter as he could.
Friendly relationship with Irina Shayk
From 2015 to 2019, the actor was in a relationship with the Russian model Irina Shayk (38). The couple’s daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, was born in 2017. Despite Cooper and Shayk’s split, the two are said to still be on friendly terms, according to an insider.
