“As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favor and go fuck yourself.”Gallagher said. “It’s like being in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be a part of anything that’s mentally upsetting. Plus, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of those clowns on that forum, so it’s all a lot of nonsense.”

Along with Carey and Oasis, this year’s nominees are Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade and A Tribe Called Quest.
“This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diversity of artists and music that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said foundation president, John Sykes, it’s a statement. “Continuing in the true spirit of rock & roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced many others who have followed in their footsteps.”

Gallagher criticized the institution after the nominees were announced earlier this month, writing on social media that he would not attend the ceremony if Oasis were inducted. Although his brother Noel might show up, Gallagher said he, on the other hand, would be “washing my hair and getting a pedicure and a manicure.”
It is quite common for non-rock artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Last year’s members, for example, included Missy Elliott, Dolly Parton, George Michael, Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. Other notable members of past non-rock genre ceremonies include Jay-Z, Notorious BIG and Carly Simon.
The 2024 inductees will be announced in late April and a ceremony will be held in Cleveland
