Writer Martin Suter is celebrating his birthday for the first time since his wife’s death. He can only celebrate this every four years because: He was born on February 29th, a leap day.
The Swiss bestselling author Martin Suter is celebrating his first leap birthday this year since the death of his wife. “We are celebrating my birthday and the stroke of luck that my wife was born. We are celebrating life a little today,” said the 76-year-old in an interview on the radio station Bayern 2. His wife, the fashion designer Margrith Nay Suter, was old in 2023 died at the age of 72. Her birthday would have been March 1st.
Suter can only celebrate his birthday every four years because: He was born on February 29th, a leap day. “I never suffered from it, on the contrary, you feel like you’re something special,” said Suter. Nevertheless, he doesn’t attach too much importance to the day. “I would have to run out of other ideas before I could make this an issue.” In general, he doesn’t want to discuss himself in books if possible.
