Who wants to take care of the royal gardens at Windsor? The application deadline is the beginning of January. However, the payment leaves a lot to be desired.
The British Queen Elizabeth II (95) is looking for a new gardener for the park around Windsor Castle. That comes from a job advertisement on the website of the Royal Household.
It is about looking after gardens, “which thousands will admire”, says the job description, in which knowledge as a gardener and a driver’s license are required as minimum qualifications. What is also required is a “passion for lawn care”. The application deadline is January 5, 2022.
The promised payment, however, is anything but royal: Just 19,500 pounds (around 22,800 euros) is promised as gross annual salary upon entry. This in a city where even a one-room apartment often costs up to around £ 1200 a month, plus ancillary costs.
After all, the chances of meeting the British monarch in real life can hardly be greater in any other place. The Queen has been primarily in Windsor since the pandemic began. “Bild” first reported on the job advertisement.
