New Forbes list for 2023: They were the top earners in Hollywood

Someone else took first place: Adam Sandler (57), who earned a net total of $73 million. The actor has appeared in eight Netflix films since 2014 – “Murder Mystery 2” was added last year. The 57-year-old has produced numerous other films through his production company Happy Madison. According to Forbes, his films on Netflix were watched for more than 500 million hours in the first half of the year alone.

Tom Cruise (61) took third place with net income of $45 million – mainly thanks to the new “Mission: Impossible” film. In fourth place is Ryan Gosling (43), who celebrated success as Ken in “Barbie” in 2023 and is nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor in 2024. Added to this is the chart success of “I’m Just Ken”. The “Barbie” song has been streamed more than 100 million times on Spotify alone. Gosling’s net income amounts to $43 million. Matt Damon (53), who was seen in the box office hit “Oppenheimer” in 2023, earned just as much income and is also in fourth place.

In sixth place is the second of only two women on the list: Jennifer Aniston (54), who appeared alongside Adam Sandler in “Murder Mystery 2” and as an actress and producer for the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show”. Pocketed $2 million. Her total net earnings: $42 million.

Two actors share seventh place

Leonardo DiCaprio (49) didn’t receive a nomination for his role in the Oscar-nominated film “Killers of the Flower Moon”, but he was able to enjoy a pretty good salary. The actor earned $41 million net in 2023 – that’s seventh place. Thanks to his role as CEO of the start-up studio Artists Equity and his role in “Air: The Big Thing,” Ben Affleck (51) was able to earn a whopping $38 million in 2023, putting him in ninth place. Tenth place belongs to two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington (69), who earned $24 million last year with the third part of the “The Equalizer” series and his almost 40-year-old film catalog.
