After his much discussed interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry followed up. He is currently writing his biography together with a ghostwriter. This causes incomprehension among his critics.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s original plan to withdraw from public royal life seems to be nothing. The two are more than ever in the focus of reporting. On Monday evening, the publisher Penguin Random House announced that Prince Harry’s memoir will be published at the end of next year. “I am not writing this as the prince I was born as, but as the man I have become,” said the prince in a statement published by the publisher.
Prince Harry’s memoirs are a source of criticism
The news hit the UK like a bomb. Quite a few expect explosive revelations from the royal dropout. His mother, the late Princess Diana, caused a sensation with interviews and biographies. The news therefore calls on some of Harry’s harshest critics.
“Harry is so obsessed with revenge that he intends to reveal everything like a cheesy Hollywood star,” said Daily Mail columnist Dan Wootton. The conservative journalist does not have good hair on Harry and Meghan, even calling on Twitter to take away all of Harry’s titles.
Slap in the face for the family
Royal expert Phil Dampier told the Express newspaper how the royal family might react to Harry’s latest plan. “You’ll be desperate that Harry – no doubt at Meghan’s insistence – just won’t let it go. It’s evident that Harry, when he stopped by to unveil Diana’s statue earlier this month, was making no significant progress in his relationship with his father or brother. If he respected their opinion, he wouldn’t be doing this book because they wouldn’t approve, “he wrote.
“I’m afraid that many other people will see this as another moneymaking at the expense of relatives,” he said.
Some critics also vented their anger on Twitter. Or they commented ironically on the plans of Prince Charles’ son. “It’s nice that Prince Harry finally wants to tell his story. We haven’t heard it for at least 20 minutes,” tweeted a user, referring to the many interviews the prince has given in the recent past.
But also praise
But not only criticism of Harry’s plans was loud. Some fans responded with understanding. “Prince Harry is in the process of crushing every article, story and lie that has been written about him in the past 36 years. I’m ready,” said one fan happily. “It’s your life. So you too, to tell your story, “applauded another.
Prince Harry’s memoirs polarized even before they were even finished. Anyone who has followed the story of Prince and Duchess Meghan in recent years should not be surprised.
