Rod Stewart is a big fan of model trains. Germany is therefore an Eldorado for the singer. But his enthusiasm is not just limited to model building.
Rod Stewart – British rock star, football and model railway fan – appreciates what he calls Germany’s huge “treasure of fantastic model railway shops”. “It’s really great,” says Stewart (79) in the German edition of “Playboy”.
“Every larger city has at least one shop, and usually there are even more. It’s the old truth anyway: the best things come from Germany. I really like Germany. The people are wonderful, the food is excellent, and the beer is fantastic.” Germany is “a glorious country”.
The musician is therefore looking forward to the German part of his tour, which will take him through the European Championship host country from mid-May to the end of June. According to Stewart, the opening game of the European Championship between Germany and Scotland on June 14th in Munich will be the only Scotland game he will not be able to watch live because he is giving a concert in Leipzig that evening.
