A year ago, Murdoch had planned to tie the knot for the fifth time, but the relationship ended abruptly. Now it should work in June.
Media entrepreneur Rupert Murdoch is making a new attempt at a fifth marriage. Murdoch, who turns 93 on March 11, plans to marry 67-year-old retired molecular biologist Elena Zhukova, the New York Times reported, citing the Australian-born media mogul’s office. Accordingly, the marriage is planned for June. The invitations are already on the way and the celebration is to take place at Murdoch’s Californian winery Moraga.
Murdoch had already had similar plans in March 2023. At that time, according to media reports, he proposed marriage to Ann Lesley Smith, now 67, the widow of country singer Chester Smith. But two weeks later he abruptly ended the relationship, writes the New York Times.
Murdoch separated from actress Jerry Hall, with whom he had been married since 2016, in the summer of 2022. Before that, he had already been married three times and had six children from these marriages.
Zhukova (German transcription: Schukova) came to the USA towards the end of the Soviet Union and, according to the New York Times, conducted research at the University of California, among other places. Her daughter Dasha was in a relationship with the Russian oligarch Roman Abramowitsch until 2017.
