Even though he has moved away, Hape Kerkeling still enjoys coming to Berlin. There were reasons for packing your suitcase.
Hape Kerkeling now lives in Cologne, but comes to Berlin regularly. The comedian and author (“I’ll be away then”) told the daily newspaper “BZ” that he enjoys being in the city often and again. “And if I miss it, Berlin won’t be out of the world.”
He lived in the capital for ten years. “In fact, I had the impression that the atmosphere in this beautiful city was becoming a little more homophobic. That doesn’t just have to do with Berlin, but with a very unfortunate situation in the world,” said Kerkeling (59) when asked why he moved away be. “But I didn’t want to expose myself to that anymore as a prominent face. That’s why I went back to the more tranquil Rhineland.”
Kerkeling once again lends his voice to Panda Po in the new, fourth part of the animated film series “Kung Fu Panda”. “Kung Fu Panda 4” hits theaters on March 14th.
