Emily Ratajkowski struggled with her sculpture dress on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
A new trend emerged on the red carpet at the Oscars: simple but sculptural garments that wrapped perfectly around the body – although not always to cover it. Especially in the case of top model Emily Ratajkowski (32), the item of clothing chosen seemed to have the aim of revealing its wearer.
For the Vanity Fair Oscar party, Ratajkowski chose a long, white dress by Jacquemus that hugged her body in the waist and stomach area, but stood out like a stiff piece of paper at the chest level. The supermodel’s back was also emphasized by a particularly deep neckline down to her bottom. Since Ratajkowski didn’t wear a bra, the dress offered a clear view of her upper body, especially from the side.
Clothes with a will of their own
The adventurous dress naturally attracted everyone’s attention and the lenses of the photographers thanks to the so-called “sideboob”. The model tried to temporarily counteract the freedom of movement by actively pressing the material against her cleavage with her hand while posing.
But the dress had a mind of its own – and that’s probably how it was intended. After all, Ratajkowski wasn’t the only one wearing the new sculpted look. Other actresses also chose dresses that didn’t care about adapting to the shapes of their wearers, but rather did their own thing and thus artistically expanded the body.
Sculpture trend: Sandra Hülser, Ariana Grande and Emma Stone are also there
Sandra Hülser’s (45) winged shoulders were also a fashionable theme, from which she gracefully waved to the crowd like a queen. Ariana Grande (30) caused a stir with a soft pink dress by Giambattista Valli, which was draped like a cloud with a puffed sleeve-like stole and long train. And Emma Stone (35), who was awarded the Oscar for Best Actress that evening for her role in “Poor Things”, also brought her Louis Vuitton dress onto the red carpet with a sweeping peplum that was reminiscent of the historical dresses of the Rococo remembered.
