Days after winning her second Oscar for Best Actress for Poor Thingsthe next movie Emma Stone with Yorgos Lanthimos, Kinds of Kindnesshas set a theatrical release date of June 21.
Searchlight has just made official the news about its third feature film project with Lanthimos after the Oscar winner The Favorite and Poor Things.
The Favorite and Poor Things were released in the fourth calendar quarter; This is Lanthimos’ first release for Searchlight to open in the American summer, leading to speculation that this film could go to Cannes. Lanthimos’ last film that went to Cannes was The Killing of a Sacred Dear of 2017.

Kinds of Kindness also stars Poor Things co-star Willem Dafoe. The film also stars Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Margaret Qualley, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer.
Lanthimos at the Golden Globes described the film as follows: “It’s three contemporary stories, and there’s a core of actors, seven in total, who play a character in each story,” he said. “So, they will play three different characters.” The filmmaker mentioned in January that he was currently editing Kind of Kindness.
