Rape allegations against Chris Noth: Peloton stops commercial

In a commercial for the fitness bike manufacturer Peloton, actor Chris Noth was the charmer in front of the fireplace. The company reacted to the rape allegations against the 67-year-old.

It was a creative response to his death on the show “And Just Like That”: Actor Chris Noth, who plays the husband of lead actress Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the series, suffered a heart attack and died after training on a peloton bike.

The fitness manufacturer, who supposedly knew nothing about the scene beforehand, then published a commercial in which Noth in his role as “Mr. Big” was brought back to life. In the short clip, the 67-year-old and his peloton trainer sit in “And Just Like That” Allegra was called, in front of the Christmas decorated fireplace and talk about the next training session. The company seemed to have achieved a coup, but now Peloton has stopped the commercial.

The reason for this are the rape and abuse allegations against Chris Noth, the US magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” published the accounts of two women who accuse the actor of forcing them to have sex. The two incidents are said to have occurred in Los Angeles in 2004 and New York in 2015. The two women do not know each other and turned to the magazine independently.

In the meantime, the US actress Zoe Lister-Jones also reported that Chris Noth was filming the series “Law and Order” should have bothered. “During a recording he came very close to me, smelled my neck and whispered: ‘You smell good'”, wrote the 39-year-old on her. In addition, Noth is said to have been drunk while filming in 2005. Lister-Jones called the 67-year-old one “Sex offender”.

Peloton said it was taking the allegations against Noth very seriously. “We were unaware of these allegations when we hired Chris Noth (…). We strive to find out more. Until then, we will have stopped advertising this video and archived the related posts on social media”a company spokesman said “Hollywood Reporter”.

Noth, on the other hand, names the allegations “categorically wrong”. “No always means no – that is a limit that I have not exceeded. The encounters were consensual. It is difficult not to question the timing of these stories. I’m not sure why they’re showing up now, but I do know one thing: I didn’t attack these women”the actor told him “Hollywood Reporter”.
