Attack: Wissler: Gave his first speech in the Bundestag and broke his pelvis

After the robbery she was in severe pain, but painkillers helped. She decided not to report the crime – also because her trust in the police had weakened.

According to her own words, Left Party leader Janine Wissler gave her first speech in the Bundestag in 2022 with a concussion and a broken pelvis. The 42-year-old now reported in the magazine “Stern” that it was the result of an attack.

On her way home in Berlin in the evening, a man tried to snatch her bag from behind and pushed her violently to the ground. “I was in pain, but I was able to walk to some extent. It wasn’t until days later that it turned out that it was a broken pelvis. So I gave my first speech in the Bundestag with a concussion and a broken pelvis without knowing it. Thanks to painkillers, I had it no one noticed.”

She didn’t file a complaint. “Because I couldn’t have identified him. I didn’t see his face,” Wissler said. “And because I was afraid to give my address to the police.”

Like other celebrities, Wissler from Hessin received death threats in 2020 from a man who posed as “NSU 2.0” based on the right-wing extremist terrorist group. The man who was caught later managed to obtain the private addresses from the police. The Left chairwoman still doesn’t believe in a lone perpetrator: “As long as the case is not completely solved, I have no confidence that my data will be safe with the police.”
