The actor Sky du Mont is open to new things. The 76-year-old also thinks that artificial intelligence is exciting and offers options for the future.
The actor and author Sky du Mont (76, “The Shoe of Manitu”) is a technology fan – and doesn’t shy away from artificial intelligence (AI).
“Computers and all sorts of things – I love things like that. Even AI, which will change our jobs and many other things, doesn’t scare me,” said du Mont to the German Press Agency in Hamburg. “In medicine, for example, AI represents a mega step forward. And it will make communication stronger overall.”
When asked about the dangers of AI manipulation, the father of three children who lives in the Hanseatic city replied: “We’ll live with it. When the first computers came, many people said: ‘The devil’s work’. And today it’s no longer possible without them.” In the end, AI must remain controllable and it will, said du Mont – “because there are always people who will find a way to do it.”
The actor, who also achieved fame as a best-selling author (“Unbeschönt”, 2022), has written a book entitled “I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Because it will be like it has never been before”, which was recently published by the publisher Herder appeared. In it, du Mont defies the rather pessimistic zeitgeist and advocates a positive attitude to life.
