US actor Michael Emmet Walsh has died at the age of 88. He was best known for his role in Blade Runner.
US character actor Michael Emmet Walsh (1935-2024), who became an audience favorite thanks to his deliciously hideous performances in films such as “Blood Simple”, “Blade Runner”, “Brubaker” and “The Jerk”, has died. He was 88 years old. Walsh died Tuesday in St. Albans, Vermont. The cause was cardiac arrest.

Fans of the romantic comedy “My Best Friend’s Wedding” (1997). In it, he played Joe O’Neal, the father of her beloved Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney, 60), alongside Julia Roberts (56). Most recently he was seen in, among other things, the surprise hit “Knives Out – Murder is a Family Matter” (2019).
No woman thought he was “a good catch”
Walsh never married. : “When you marry another actor, there’s always competition. And when you marry a ‘civilian,’ they don’t understand what you’re doing and why you have to travel to, say, Nova Scotia for several months. Besides, I “I’ve never met a woman who was stupid enough to think I was a good catch.”
