First images of Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega in the Beetlejuice sequel

After more than three decades, we have been able to see Michael Keaton again with grease paint and a scary wig like Beetlejuice. Warner Bros. released two images of the upcoming sequel to Tim Burton, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The first shows Keaton in the character’s classic striped prison suit, showing off his iconic, dirty smile.

The second image presents Catherine O’Hara like Delia, Jenna Ortega like Astrid, Winona Ryder like Lydia and Justin Theroux like Rory in a funeral setting.

Other new cast members include Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon) and Willem Dafoe.

What the Beetlejuice sequel is about

After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their Winter River home. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the city in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his own kind of chaos.

Michael Keaton gave details of the new Beetlejuice movie

Keaton gave details of the new Beetlejuice movie that will be released in theaters later this year. Tim Burton’s film is a sequel to the 1988 horror comedy starring Keaton in the title role.

In a recent interview, Keaton talked about reprising Beetlejuice and deciding early on with Burton that he wanted avoid relying too much on CGI.

“The only thing that he and I decided from the beginning, from the beginning, if we ever did it again, is that I was not at all interested in doing something where there was too much technology”, he told People. “It had to feel handmade.”
