The second season from the original series HBO House of the Dragon will be released on Sunday June 16 at 9pm (ET) in HBO and streaming on Max. The second season will consist of eight episodes and every Sunday a new one will debut.
Francesca Orsiexecutive vice president of programming and head of HBO’s original feature films and drama series, debuted the “rival” trailers at the Series Mania event in Lille, France, this Thursday as part of WBD’s announcement of Max’s arrival to Europe from May 21.
What the second season of House of the Dragon is about
Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war between the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra respectively. Each side believes that the Iron Throne belongs to them, in the Green and Black trailers these two perspectives are reflected in separate halves, but they complement the same story. Now “Decide Your Side” within House Targaryen as the kingdom fractures in this second season.

House of the Dragon takes place about 200 years before the events in “Game of Thrones” and tells the story of House Targaryen.

The cast of this second season includes Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. The actors also return to this season Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham.
For this new season the actors have joined: Clinton Liberty (Addam of Hull), Jamie Kenna (Ser Alfred Broome), Kieran Bew (Hugh), Tom Bennett (Ulf), Tom Taylor (Lord Cregan Stark), Vincent Regan (Ser Rickard Thorne), Abubakar Salim (Alyn of Hull), Gayle Rankin (Alys Rivers), Freddie Fox (Ser Gwayne Hightower) and Simon Russell Beale (Ser Simon Strong).
Based on “Fire and blood” of George R.R. Martin, Martin is co-creator and executive producer along with Ryan Condal, who is also showrunner. The executive producers of this new season are Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere and Vince Gerardis.
