The speculation about Princess Kate’s health is over. In a video message, the wife of heir to the throne William addressed all those who had been worried about her in the past few weeks. In January, Catherine said, she had to undergo abdominal surgery. At that time she was told there was no suspicion of cancer. Then the shock: “However, during the examinations after the operation it was discovered that cancer was present. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the initial phase of this treatment,” said the Princess.

The princess then reveals with emotional words that she first had to process the news. It was a “huge shock,” says Kate. “We have done everything we could to process and resolve this matter privately for the sake of our young family,” she said. The future queen seemed particularly touched when she mentioned her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. “I told them that I’m doing well and that I’m getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that help me get healthy – in my mind, my body and my soul,” explains the 42-year-old .
The princess also has warm words for her husband: “Having William by my side is also a great source of comfort and reassurance.” Towards the end of her video message, Kate suggests that fans will probably have to avoid appearing in public for a little longer. “We hope you understand that as a family we need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” Kate said. “I have always enjoyed my work and I look forward to getting back to it when I am able, but for now I need to focus on my full recovery.” She also thinks of all those people who are also currently battling cancer, says Kate.
