At the beginning of February, the palace announced that King Charles was suffering from cancer. Since then, the king has been receiving treatment – and has canceled all public appointments. A relative is now providing insight.
The British King Charles III. (75) is frustrated by the slow progress in his cancer treatment, according to his nephew Peter Phillips. Princess Anne’s son (73) told the Australian TV station Sky News Australia.
Charles is in “good spirits,” Phillips assured, but added: “I think he’s ultimately very frustrated. He’s frustrated that he can’t move forward and do everything he would like to do,” said the 18th in line to the British throne in an interview broadcast over the weekend. But Charles is also very pragmatic and understands that there is a time when he has to focus on himself.
At the beginning of February, the palace announced that King Charles was suffering from cancer. It is not known what form of the disease it is – except that it is not supposed to be prostate cancer. The king has since been undergoing treatment and has canceled all public appearances until further notice. But behind the scenes he carries out duties and also holds audiences from time to time.
According to the British news agency PA, Charles hopes to attend a scaled-down version of the traditional Easter service in Windsor. His son and heir to the throne, Prince William (41) and his wife Princess Kate (42) and their children should not be there. Kate also revealed that she had cancer last week and is now receiving preventive chemotherapy.
