“My children don’t like it when I travel,” says the mother of two. When she returned home from filming in Canada, she had to make a “shocking” discovery.
US actress Christina Ricci (44) reports how filming has affected her relationship with her young daughter. “Last year I was commuting to Vancouver and back for ‘Yellowjackets,'” Ricci, whose daughter turned two in December, said on actress Shannen Doherty’s podcast. “She didn’t know me. We had no bond. It was very upsetting.”
Ricci, who also has a nine-year-old son, talks about the difficulties of balancing work and family life. “My children don’t like it when I travel,” she explained. She takes her son with her on her trips as often as possible. But paying for flights and hotel rooms for both children and her husband on a regular basis is “simply too expensive”.
Ricci’s second marriage is to hairdresser Mark Hampton. The family lives in Los Angeles.
