For the first time in many years, Simone Thomalla spends Christmas as a single. The 56-year-old revealed in an interview why she is still not lonely and what she expects from a new partner.
In September Simone Thomalla and Silvio Heinvetter announced their separation. The actress and the handball player were in a relationship for twelve years – despite an age difference of 19 years. She doesn’t mind that Thomalla is spending the upcoming Christmas party without a man by her side. “I’m single for the first time in ages. At this festival I only do what I feel like doing on my own,” she told the “Bild” newspaper. Simone Thomalla did not reveal whether her daughter Sophia would stop by with her new boyfriend, tennis pro Alexander Zverev.
Nevertheless, it does not sit completely isolated under the Christmas tree. She has her family and friends around her, there are “a lot of great people”. “I’m really not lonely. In fact, my life has not changed much overall,” said Thomalla. In the past few years, too, she had not always seen her partner regularly due to her job as an actress.
Thomalla’s ex-boyfriend Silvio Heinevetter played for many years at the Füchse Berlin club, but moved to Melsungen in Hesse in 2019. Thomalla continued to live in Berlin. “Unfortunately, the amount of time we spent together was often far too small, which in principle can lead to the end of any relationship at some point,” said the 56-year-old. Before Heinevetter, Thomalla was in a relationship with the late football manager Rudi Assauer for nine years.
Simone Thomalla is open to a new love
After many years in a relationship, Thomalla enjoys her single life and is not actively looking for a new man. “I just need time to breathe deeply. I am open to a new love, but I’m not afraid of it if I don’t meet it for the first time,” she told the “Bild”. She wanted a humorous partner at eye level who would treat her like his queen, explained Thomalla. “A friend once said to me that I am not an instrument, but a whole orchestra – and you have to find the conductor first!”
And there is one thing the actress has no desire at all: “There doesn’t have to be a training plan in my life. I think it’s enough now. I washed kilos of sports clothes for my men. That’s enough now, by the way.”
