Sonya Kraus is looking positively into the future after undergoing chemotherapy. In an interview she talks about her life after the cancer shock.
One and a half years after completing her chemotherapy, Sonya Kraus (50) is doing better than ever before. In a new interview with the magazine “Bunte”, the “Wheel of Fortune” presenter spoke openly about her optimistic attitude to life. She is doing “unashamedly well,” said Kraus and at the same time sent an important message to all women in a similar situation: “There is hope! I am completely free of fears today.”
She is sure that she will continue to fight again if the cancer returns. “In each of us there is a great fighter that we sometimes have to unleash.” In September 2021, Sonya Kraus had a lump discovered in her breast. The presenter then decided on a bilateral mastectomy followed by chemotherapy.
Among other things, she is very happy that she now has more hair than before the chemotherapy. She has also become much more balanced and calmer: “I am more relaxed, resilient and courageous than before, I have a deep calm and self-confidence. I am firmly convinced that I can deal with a crisis better today. I feel blessed that I brought this time forward.”
This helps Sonya Kraus feel fit
Her secret to feeling fit is exercise, as she explained in the interview. “After chemotherapy, I started Hatha Yoga, which is very strenuous and great for the muscles. A few weeks ago I also started ballet again, where I do my exercises alongside teenagers.” She also eats a “flexi-vegan” diet: no meat and no milk. “This works perfectly for me.”
She always encourages affected women by, for example, posting her “fetish” – her wig collection. Because she can apparently also get something positive out of artificial hair. It’s so much quicker to style and there’s a lot to choose from. “So just be brave and don’t let your head down.
