After a “bumpy” start, Luca and Christina Hänni are now taking a relaxed approach to the pregnancy, as they explained in an interview.
Engagement, wedding, building a house – and soon their first child: everything has been going very quickly for Luca (29) and Christina Hänni (34) for a few months now. “We simply had luck on our side,” says Luca Hänni in a double interview with “Gala” magazine. “Just a few months after I proposed to Christina, we came across the house. And boom, you were pregnant.”
No stress when building a nest
However, the “Let’s Dance” dream couple is still taking a little time to prepare for the baby: “The wallpaper is hanging and the changing table is in place,” reveals Christina Hänni in an interview with the magazine “Gala”. “So there’s still a bit of work to be done.” Husband Luca adds: “Next I have to screw shelves and attach the lamp. But that’s all fun. We don’t let ourselves get stressed.” The search for a name isn’t finished either: “We don’t even have one yet!” the two admit. “We’re having a really hard time. Maybe we’ll have an inspiration when we hold our baby in our hands.”
The first few months of pregnancy were not easy for Christina Hänni: “The beginning was very bumpy, I really struggled with nausea for the first few months. Luckily that’s over.” In the meantime everything is going “great” – except for a few “sensitive days when the hormones are particularly noticeable”. But husband Luca suffers from “major mood swings,” as he admits: “I have respect for what’s coming up. But of course the anticipation outweighs that.”
Married since 2023
Luca Hänni and his “Let’s Dance” partner met in the 13th season of the RTL dance show in 2020. A few months after the finale, they announced they were officially a couple. The two then bought a house in the Swiss home of the 2012 “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” winner and moved in together. Hänni and Luft got engaged in January of last year, and the wedding followed in the summer of 2023. Shortly before Christmas 2023, the couple announced the pregnancy.
He cooks, she washes: That’s how living together works for the Hännis
Moving to Switzerland was “a big change” for Christina Hänni, she says in the “Gala” interview. But now she feels “more at home every day.” In general, living together works well – especially the division of household tasks. “I really enjoy doing the laundry – it really calms me down,” says Christina Hänni. “And Luca loves vacuuming.” He adds: “But I also take out the trash.”
In addition, the 29-year-old is “the chef in our marriage” and has therefore become a kind of co-pregnant: “I actually ate more and trained less. (…) So in the end there are two kilos more on the scales. “
