People: Paparazzo incident? No consequences for Taylor Swift’s father

At her mega concerts in Sydney, Taylor Swift was surrounded by paparazzi at every turn. One claimed she was beaten by her father. Now the police are speaking out.

An alleged incident with a paparazzo in Sydney, Australia has no legal consequences for the father of US superstar Taylor Swift. At the end of February, a photographer accused Scott Swift (72) of hitting him in the face when his daughter left a luxury yacht in the metropolis’ harbor surrounded by bodyguards. The man also said that security guards had pushed umbrellas into his face and against his camera.

The 34-year-old Swift has been on the road for seven concerts in Australia since mid-February with her gigantic “The Eras Tour”. A total of 600,000 fans saw the pop icon live. In the summer she will also be coming to Germany for some dates – which have already been sold out.

The paparazzo said the incident occurred when the singer wanted to get into a car. “I didn’t know it was her father at first,” he said. He only identified him later based on photos. “It was a bit of a shock, but I’ll leave the job to the police,” the man explained.

Police launched an investigation but allowed Scott Swift to leave the country. “No criminal offenses were identified and the investigation was concluded without the need for further police action,” Australian media quoted the New South Wales state police as saying.
